MELT-IN-THE-MOUTH
COOKIES
1/2 c. sweet butter
1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
3/4 c. sifted wholewheat flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
1. Cream butter; add sugar, vanilla and egg; beat until light.
2. Add sifted dry ingredients and nuts.
3. Drop by scant teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake in hot oven (400°)
for about 5 minutes. Cool for 1/2 minute, remove to wire racks.
Makes 8 dozen
